Our newest digital press has 6 spot color options

Included on our new Ricoh digital press is the ability to print in six optional spot colors in addition to CMYK. It’s a new world, and here’s some of the ways we can color it for you!

Gold & Silver Metallic Inks

Either as an accent with CMYK, or just as a standalone single color, metallics always make a piece look special. Either color also looks great on a black or dark paper (more news coming soon about our new paper options). Metallic inks can also be mixed with CMYK blends to create a range of specialty colors.

White Ink

There’s nothing quite like the look of a negative image printed in white ink on a dark background. And unlike white offset ink, which tends to be very transparent, the white digital ink has much more opacity, so you get a much stronger color. And if you’re really looking for a cool effect, try printing white ink first as an undercoat, then add CMYK ink on top.

Clear Ink

Clear ink is perfect if you’re looking to highlight a specific element on the page, or create a subtle background effect. Digital clear ink is strong enough to stand on its own on a dark paper.

Neon Pink & Neon Yellow

Though you can use these two bright colors as standalone spot colors, what they really excel in is to extend the CMYK gamut to get deeper purples, and brighter oranges and greens. Add some neon as a 5^th color to CMYK and it also brings a new range of Pantone spot colors into gamut without having to ink up an offset press.
